This copiously illustrated book analyses Cortefiel’s trends in window design and highlights examples marked by extraordinary creativity and visual inventiveness.

This book chronicles the fifty-plus-year history in a unique “memoir of projects” that tells the story of the Spanish retail brand through key window works. With a personal narrative that details the experience of department directors throught the process of designing landmark projects for each season.

Manuel edited and designed this book with a clear, cogent format that complements the company’s articulate and accessible story telling. Featuring an introduction by the retail company’s director, these vitrines are presented as works of art in this edition, capturing the inspired world that is Cortefiel.

The design of the book makes the most of window’s electrifying color, filling the pages with vibrant, large-scale images of the team work and using color as an organizational element with the contents. The volume traces Cortefiel’s development as a retail reference, with the work loosely grouped into four different sections related to the company’s phases evolution.

Each section of the book begins with a folio of divider pages that are printed on uncoated paper and appear in a different color dividing each subject. The dividers open to reveal the retail responses from the company to each season. At the back of the book, the archive section acts as an appendix that collects a company’s history, personal photos, an team members statements, and reprints of key interviews and essays, also printed on uncoated stock.
