The project covered three of the most contemporary forms of expression: Videoart, Short Film and Net-art, and was part of the program of commemorative events of the 4th Centenary of the First Edition of Don Quixote, launched by the Spanish Ministry of Culture.

For this project it was designed an entire range of video/film texture combinations as a major element of the identity. A way of representing what could embody the values of the festival and that could appear in different ways on different occasions, a representation of how video art and media installations are unic in the way they present a shifting pattern in any art collection.

The festival, after all, is dedicated to artists who chose image on movement formats and transform them over and over again. So it was looked for the simple forms in which the communication materials would permit that same kind of transformation.

The pieces presented in this contest were inspired by Don Quixote and developed aspects related to it. More than a mere illustration of the literary work, creations revolve around concepts, themes or ideas that are addressed in the book and remain current today: the boundaries between reason and madness, the relationship between fantasy and reality, the concept of authorship, the cult and the popular, the novel within the novel, the defense of justice, platonic love, the concept of hero, the opposition between materialism and idealism, the concept of freedom, and so on.

The project invited to raise new readings of Don Quixote, to contribute to its survival, to create new works from it, to rescue its pedagogical character.
